One of the best I've read in a long, long time. It seems data is collected but the "outliers" are so many and smoothing to get rid off those effects results in garbage. I've been measuring accelerations and speeds of cars for the past 10 years. You'll be surprised to know that things tend to accelerate in upredictable ways even if a constant force is present. Yet, everyone is ignoring the fact like the brave Russians note in their paper. Why is that? I tell you those Russians risked a lot publishing that paper. When "non conforming" measurements are collected, experimenters aare accused of error. This is the typical defense mode of the establishement of garbage science and dogmatic scientists. They speak about an asteroid that will become, in 600 years, a "pseudo-moon" of the earth. From the earth point of view the asteroid will circle us. But it won't be bound to earth gravity. For a well established and very accurately calculated orbit of the Earth/moon system I assumed there was a lot of data to show the calculations are correct and found nothing of the sort. There seems to be no data on the radial velocity of the Earth as it orbits the sun-no redshift data. So, how is it that models can provide what cannot be measured or at least is not being measured? n/a	Posted - 12 Jan 2003 : 11:32:42 i know that optical and radio measuremnts not match for sure.. astronomical data models such as from JPL are based on a combination of radio data and math model predictions...the noise level is to high in measurements and many assuptions are applied to get the ephemeris out...the files are in a special format and access is difficult unless one has some type of relational data base tool with specific high level object oriented commands...it a real mess...i don't think there exist any prediction based on pure radio signals...good luck to you...you'll need it...lol Serviccing synonymic tuberization kerbstone composer scorify? If I recall correctly, the barycenter model assumes the common center of mass is unaccelerated and one of the two masses moves with it or is fixed wrt.. then that the plane of orbit is known and theta sub zero is set at the pericentron, to a zero value....that's the only way to solve the problem and get the constants of integration from the mechanical energy function...unless you do that, the problem has six second-order differential-- non-liner-- equations and only two integrals and two energy equations, that is to say it cannot be solved (if i recall correctly)... nevertheless, it is to my surprise that its solution seems to confirm measurements, unless and I mean that, measurements are smoothed out by the model predictions and are not based on pure radio signals bounded back and forth. well jim, even if you study orbital mechanics for 50 years you'll never understand why is like that but only what's there... it's a religion pal... The Astronomical Ephemeris published by the U.S. Naval Observatory annually has tables of the Sun that are used in the comparison with observations. They are known to match closely, but are much easier to understand and use than raw observations. You can find full explanations of this material, including everything you ever wanted to know about the Sun's motion but were afraid to ask, in the Explanatory Supplement to the Astronomical Ephemeris. I recommend getting an old edition, say the one published in 1960, rather than the latest (1992) edition. The newer stuff addresses all wavelengths and higher-precision users, so it is necessarily a lot more technical. Even the old editions presume a lot of astronomy background, so you might need a glossary of terms handy. This is exactly equal on Earth and on the sun. The effect is not equal because the mass ratio is large. The effect of the force on the Earth is well known. The effect of the force on the sun is not even documented. You say the effect is the same as on Earth only smaller in that the sun moves in a little copy of the orbit of Earth. I did the math for this effect and found the force of 10E22 newtons on the sun is much too tiny to move a mass as large as the sun more than mm/s or so. Since the sun is a fluid body I see no logical method for the sun to move at as a result of force from any of the planets. The fluid surface of the sun can rise as the Earth passes over the surface which would absorb the force of gravity the Earth and other planets exert upon the sun. In this way the gravity center of the remains fixed relative to the planets and the binary system can be modeled with a barycenter that moves as a balance scale would indicate. The sun's center never moves. I don't know if this is right but knowing force and the rule of force seems to clear up some of the confusion that is built into the current model.
